Pizzas and cars and love, oh my!

For Valentine's Day my man and I usually keep things low key. Love and appreciation are an every day thing, but we still decided to celebrate this non-holiday holiday by lunching at Little Caesars at Hillarys. That was the first time either of us had been there so we were overwhelmed by the number of delicious toppings to choose from. We ended up going half n' half with 'Smashing Pumpkins' (pumpkins, cashews and LOTS of mozarella) and a Greek variety that I have forgotten the name of (lamb, tzatziki and feta). Holy guacamole they were amazing! For desert we enjoyed with a 'Caramel Sam' which was kinda like a banoffi pie with bananas, caramel sauce and a tonne of icing sugar (tip: do not laugh or exhale whilst biting into a slice of this).

After our midday indulgence we went for a swim and I was notified that I could finally go and pick up my new car! Haha, I was so excited when we got there I wasn't even paying full attention to the guy that was explaining about the paperwork and the controls and such to the point where he was like, "I can see you just want to get in and drive it home." My shiny, black (and probably impossible to keep clean) Holden Cruze is so much bigger than my old Toyota Paseo (that I said goodbye to last Thursday) I feel like I'm driving a truck! But I love her :) Now she just needs a name...

Model obsession.

This morning I sat down for my new Sunday ritual of reading the paper and sipping green tea to find the stunning Samantha Harris gracing the cover of the Sunday Times Magazine. I'm not going to re-quote the whole article, you can read the online version for yourselves here, but I do love that she comes from humble beginnings and still retains a down-to-earth quality that many people seem to lose when they hit the big time. So here's to Harris on becoming Australia's next (and first indigenous) supermodel!

Definitely thinking of saving this STM for the next time I get my hair done!

Happy Sunday :)

Ladies that lunch.

Yesterday I was finally able to have a long overdue catch up with my best friend and exchange Christmas presents (yes, that's how long it's been!) But that's what I love about our friendship, we can go without seeing each other for weeks and then get together and pick up right where we left off.

We lunched at the Dome at Hillarys Boat Harbour, soaking up the sun and daydreaming about which boat we would buy if we had the moolah (all the while also getting swooped by seagulls since some tourists decided it would be great to put food out for them on another table so they could take photos, grr). After we said our goodbyes I headed up the coast for some snaps at the beach as the water looked absolutely amazing when I drove by earlier.

I really need a UV filter for my camera, these pictures simply do not do justice to the water that looked like absolute paradise.

Sunday dress-ups.

SPOTTO: crescent nails, Lady Gaga hair bow

Ahh Sunday, the reliable friend who always comes around with a good time to relax now matter how hectic (or not, in my case) your week has been. Today I spent most of my time in the bathroom. Firstly cleaning (and by cleaning I mean fumigating with super bleach products) and then playing with my makeup/hair products as most little girls love doing.

Stumbled upon this tutorial for crescent nailpolish while browsing blogs and just had to give it a try. I must say that it is super easy to do and looks fabulous (it would probably look better if my nails were a tad longer, but netball season has just started up again, ho hum). I love that this classic can be made modern with an endless possibility of colour combinations and simply can't wait to try out more!

I also finally tried out the hair bow that is synonymous with Lady Gaga. I remember when she opened for the Pussycat Dolls concert a while ago and absolutely loved her little skit as Warhol's muse a la factory girl. Tutorial video here by one of the YouTubers I follow.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend before the daily grind begins again tomorrow!

A little stack of heaven.

My boyfriend has given up coffee- so I taunted him by making tiramisu! (He argued that since he's not drinking a whole cup, it's okay haha). I whipped up these mini Oreo tiramisus with Kahlua but substituted the mascarpone for regular Philly cream cheese (because I'm cheap) and added extra Kahlua (because... well, just because). These are so delicious and easy to make, I highly recommend them for a little treat, enjoy!
